A low-cost, effective crosswalk solution to improve yielding at uncontrolled crosswalks, such as mid-block and trail crossings, roundabouts and more. Activated by a pedestrian, this solar-powered beacon flashes high-intensity round beacons or LED enhanced signs to alert incoming drivers, helping them recognize crossing pedestrians and cyclists day or night, in any weather. The R820-E’s self-contained enclosure houses the solar panel, batteries and energy management system in one single unit, making installation simple and fast. Efficient solar energy use allows this compact system to operate reliably in northern locations where typical solar-powered systems would not be sustainable and would require frequent, avoidable battery replacements.
